Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Hamadan carpet runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of cream, rust, mocha, blush and sage. It features a medallion-and-corners design beginning with a floral medallion, grounded in cream, over a herati field, which incorporates geometricized palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines over rust. The field is framed by compound borders, including a main border featuring boxed geometric flowerheads and diagonal oak leaves. Selvedges are overcast. Ends finish with short cotton warp fringe. The rug is unlabeled.
