Hand-Knotted Persian Tribal-Style Long Rug
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian long rug. This wool rug features a tribal-style design in a palette of deep rose, royal blue, olive and burgundy with prominent ivory highlights. It begins with three hexagonal medallions over a deep rose field with royal blue spandrels. Filling the field and corners are a variety of geometric motifs, including birds, palmettes, flowers and abstract elements. The field is framed by three borders, including running water, meandering leaves and arrows, and boteh patterns. Selvedges are overcast; ends finish with cotton warp fringe. A label on the reverse reads, ‘Made in Iran.’
