Antique Chippendale Cherry Wood Blanket Chest
Item Details
An antique Chippendale chest. The cherry blanket chest has a rectangular top with rounded edges. It has a roomy interior with a left side lidded compartment, and there are drawers at the bottom, with brass batwing handles. The boards on the lid have butterfly spline joinery, and the outside corners of the chest and the drawers have hand-dovetailed joints. The chest rests on bracket feet. No maker’s mark.

- surface marks, scratches, scuffs, dings, wear to wood throughout; hinges inside have been replaced; large dark stain to interior and some dark stains to exterior in areas; paint residue to brass pulls; an extra brass escutcheon is included, inside the interior side compartment.
