A collection of vintage sterling silver flatware primarily in the Arabesque pattern by Whiting Mfg. Co., designed by Charles Osborne and patented in 1875. The flatware from Whiting includes eleven dinner forks, eighteen salad forks, three pastry forks, twenty-four teaspoons, four tablespoons, twelve dessert spoons, sixteen demitasse spoons, and eighteen smaller demitasse spoons. These utensils feature monogrammed griffin motif handles which are hallmarked to their undersides and additionally marked, ‘Sterling Pat 1875’. The collection additionally includes one butter spreader by Gorham and one demitasse spoon by Wm. Rogers. These pieces have a total approximate weight of 90.935 ozt.
