A pair of Chinese gouache paintings on paper of ancestral portraits. Featured is a depiction of a male figure wearing an ornate robe with a depiction of fenghuang like bird on the center. Included is a depiction of a female figure wearing a red robe with a bird motif at the center. Both figures are rendered seat draped in a green and orange cloth. Both piece’s are not marked or signed by the artist. They are presented behind glass in a black wood frame with hanging hardware to the verso.

Condition

- warping, marks, and accretions across lower edge of male portrait; loss of finish to frame across upper edge of female portrait; nicks and wear to frames.
