4' x 7' Semi-Antique Hand-Knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar Rug
Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Bijar rug. This rug features a navy blue field ornamented with abstract forms in deep chestnut brown and sand. At the center is a large crenelated central medallion with abstract motifs in orange, beige, navy, and puce. The field is trimmed with a sawtooth crenelation on all sides, forming large corner spandrels which coordinate with the central medallion. The center field is bound with an unresolved principal border showing abstract motifs in puce, beige, navy, and hunter green, around which are two distinct minor borders in coordinating colors. The rug is finished with a single-wrapped selvedge to both sides and a natural warp fringe to both ends.
