Chokwe- and Huichol-Style Masks

A pair of masks, one in the style of a Chokwe Chikunza mask and the other of Mexico’s indigenous Huichol peoples. The Huichol-style mask is rendered with a wooden base covered in a pattern of colorful beadwork, while the Chokwe piece features a woven face in a diamond shape, featuring bared teeth and a string ‘beard’ to the lower edge. The Chokwe mask has a length of plant fiber for hanging to its top and neither piece has maker’s marks.
