Very Fine Hand-Knotted Isfahan Room Size Rug
Item Details
A very fine hand-knotted Persian Isfahan room size rug. The rug features a large but delicate arabesque medallion with attached pendants of similar design to the center field. Filling the remaining field are floral cameos, Shah Abassi palmettes with floral sprays, lancet leaves and quatrefoil palmettes. These design elements are worked in crimson, indigo, cerulean and mocha grounded in ivory. The field is framed with a broken arabesque border along with floral meander and herati stylized patterns over indigo, ivory and crimson. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing with long warp fringe at either end. Unlabeled.
