Item Details
An abstract watercolor painting on paper by American artist Donald Lewis Werner (1929-2010), created in 1987. Featuring pastel hues with some neon accents, this work exhibits patches of color applied in horizontal linear slashes concentrated in the upper area of the composition; the patches of color diffuse downward into increasingly diluted shades. The work is signed and dated in graphite to the lower right and to the verso. A partially illegible handwritten inscription is present to the paper verso, some of which reads ‘Exhibited Gallery 84, NYC 1988’. The work is not matted and remains unframed.
