An antique mantel clock by Gilbert Clock Co. This piece features a case constructed from oak with a clear glass door, hand painted in gold with depictions of birds and flora. The case has a scroll-cut facade with raised foliate and fan motifs, and the round white clock face features a brass bezel and displays black Roman numerals. The tag to verso reads ‘Citizen No. 18, Manufactured by Wm L. Gilbert Clock Co., Winston, Conn., U.S.A.’
