A copy oil painting on canvas by an anonymous artist after the 1835 painting titled Ruth by Italian Romantic artist Francesco Hayez (1791-1882). This piece depicts the biblical figure of Ruth with one hand opened, palm up un front of her as she carries wheat in her arm, dress fallen down to expose her breasts. This painting is unsigned and presented in a painted black wood frame with foliate gesso molding and a gold tone sight edge. There is wire to the verso for hanging.

- accretion in paint along top portion of painting; chips along edges of frame.
