A collection of four original 19th century wood engravings from the illustrated news publications Harper’s Weekly, The Graphic, and Frank Leslie’s Illustrated Newspaper. The pieces included are titled The Presidential Election in the United States, View of Rolla, Mo. Taken from the Fort + Encampment of the Federal Army near Rolla, Mo., The Inauguration Procession in Honor of President Buchanan Passing Through Pennsylvania Avenue, and Great War Meeting at Washington. Three are presented without matting or framing, and one is matted in white with handdrawn French lines.
