An antique Wm. L. Gilbert Dio Victorian parlor mantel clock. A 19th-century oak cased gingerbread clock with a decorative cutout design on a curved bonnet and reverse painted glass tablet. The clock features a curved wood frame with reeded columns that surrounds a glass panel with a reverse painted design displaying Greek columns with decorative and foliate designs in white. The glass door also displays an antique white paper dial over a tin and brass center with a brass bezel and black Roman numerals, black hands and two brass key arbors. Other features of the clock include an 8-day time and strike movement with catherdral coil and spring gong chimes and the clock stands on a plinth style base with a decorative wood overlay and bracket feet. The clock is marked ‘Wm. L. Gilbert’ on a paper label on the verso.
