A hand-knotted Anatolian wool accent rug. This rug is rendered in a bold palette of crimson, ivory, pale yellow, sapphire, fern, powder blue, rose, and teal. The crimson colored lozenge features a stepped pendant medallion infilled with a central kaikalak along with branched forms, and filler motifs. The lozenge is grounded by pale yellow field, and it features a row of branched elements and arrow forms, as well as rosettes, and boteh to the ends. Framing the field is a main border designed with a meander of ram’s horn, and tree forms, and a flower and bar patterned guard border. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a fine cotton warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
