A hand-knotted Persian Tabriz silk pictorial area rug. This finely hand-knotted silk rug features a color palette of carnelian, cream, black, red, aqua, pale grey, burnt orange, and beige. The field is densely patterned with large flowering trees and plants, with leaping deer, rabbits, and birds interspersed throughout. It is framed with delicate floral meander guard borders and a herati main border. An inscription can be seen to one edge of the rug and it has natural warp fringe to either end. It is not marked.
