A 1712 edition of A Cruising Voyage Round the World: First to the South-Seas, thence to the East-Indies, and Homewards by the Cape of Good Hope by Captain Woodes Rogers was published in London, ‘Printed for A. Bell at the Cross -Keyes and Bible in Cornhil, and B. Lintot at the Cross-Key between two Temple-gates, Fleetstreet’. A map of the world is placed in front of the title page and more maps of the South Seas Coast are found within. Bound in full leather, embossed, raised bands trimmed with gilt. Pencil marks and notes appear on the endpapers. This book tells of a privateering expedition against the Spanish in the South Seas and also includes an important early account of California. Presented in a brown leather clamshell case.
