A six-volume collection of clothbound hardcover Sherlock Holmes books by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. This collection includes a first edition of the two-volume set The Complete Sherlock Holmes: The A. Conan Doyle Memorial Edition, published by Doubleday, Doran & Company after Doyle’s death in 1930 and including a preface by Sherlockian scholar Christopher Morley. The collection also includes a three-volume anthology titled Conan Doyle’s Best Books: Sherlock Holmes Edition (P. F. Collier & Son, c. 1904), with illustrations including limited-color frontispieces; as well as a probable early American edition of the final Sherlock Holmes short story collection, The Case Book of Sherlock Holmes (George H. Doran Company, c. 1927).
