Antique Victorian Turtle-Top Center Table Cut to Coffee Table Height

Item Details

An antique Victorian turtle-top center table cut to coffee table height, late 19th century. The walnut frame features a turtle-shaped top with molded edges overhanging a conforming apron. It rises on a scrolled base joined by a central, ring- and ball-turned stretcher with a cylindrical finial. The underside is inscribed ‘#817’, otherwise the table is unmarked by the maker.

Condition

- frame has been refinished at some point with scattered scratches, nicks, and marks; top with a light stain near the center; base has been cut down to coffee table height and with some later glue reinforcements.
