An antique ‘A.H. Pfeiffer’ tole country store tea bin by North Western Can Co., late 19th century. The black, tin container is decorated with white, red, and gilt stenciling on the façade. It features a single-handled, roll-front lid labeled ‘Oolong’ above a front panel reading ‘A.H. Pfeiffer / Fine Teas / And Coffees’. The top of the bin is marked ‘North Western Can Co. / Makers – Chicago’.

Condition

- scattered surface wear and paint losses, including scratches, marks, and dings; back half of top with heavier paint losses and some spots of oxidation/rust, probably from displaying smaller canisters on top of the bin; underside with slightly heavier surface rust.
