Antique Lidded Firkin, Late 19th Century
Item Details
An antique lidded firkin, late 19th century. The mixed wood firkin retains remnants of old, if not original, ochre paint, with a higher and more vibrant concentration visible on the underside. It features a round, removable lid above a graduated and stave-constructed body reinforced with single-finger bands and copper tacks. There is a bentwood, swing handle and the firkin is unmarked by the maker.
