Vintage Handwoven Turkmen Wool Double Saddle Bag

Item Details

A vintage handwoven Turkmen wool double saddle bag. The bag has been worked in abrashed shades of clementine, chocolate, dove, ivory, cerise, midnight, camel, and cerise. It has two pouches, each faced with an intricate pattern of interlocking diamonds, hooked, barber pole, and dart motifs. There are braided loops along the center edge and knotted tassels on the bottoms of the pouches. The bags are backed with handwoven striped material in shades of brown and gray. The piece is not marked.
