A hand-knotted Turkmen Yomut area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of muted brown, red, indigo, cream, burgundy, and black. The field is patterned with diamond shaped Kepse guls arranged in a vertical lattice. It is framed by Ashik meander pattern borders, with sawtooth diagonal line and Yanrkand motif borders to either end. Finished with overcast selvedges and natural warp fringe .Unmarked.
