An antique Victorian Empire style fall front secretaire abbatant. The exterior of the piece features rosewood veneers throughout. It includes a shaped and stepped top with egg and dart molding over a full width drawer with dovetail joints and a round wood escutcheon. Below is a fall front that opens to reveal a mahogany and maple veneered fitted interior with drawers, pigeon holes, and a cabinet door. Below are three stacked, full-width drawers, also with dovetail joints and round wood escutcheons. The drawers and fall front are flanked by canted corners adorned with carved motifs. It rests on short, reeded cabriole legs. There are no visible maker’s marks.
