Antique Painted Pine Chest of Drawers

Item Details

An antique 19th-century painted pine chest of drawers. The chest has an overhung rectangular top, and four full-width hand-dovetailed drawers fitted with round wood knobs. There is fluted trim along the sides, and the chest rests on bun feet. The front, sides and legs have been painted a cream color, and Eastlake-style keyhole escutcheons have been added to the drawer fronts. No maker’s mark.

- extensive evidence of insect damage throughout; surface marks, scratches scuffs, dings wear to wood throughout; paint finish is recent; keyhole escutcheons are not original to the chest
