Vintage Empire Style Grotto Clamshell Chair

Item Details

A vintage Empire style grotto clamshell chair. The stained wood chair features a clam shell shaped seat supported by a center turned pedestal and three cabriole legs on paw feet atop a trefoil base. The seat and floral carved apron are accented in gold. There are no visible maker’s marks.

Condition

Chipped; Visible repairs in several places, including a big part of back piece; Scratches and nicks.
