A large-scale limited edition bonded bronze high relief sculpture titled Daydream by contemporary American sculptor and painter Bill Mack (b. 1944), created circa 1988. This work features an ethereal woman with flowing hair, gazing into the distance. Faux green patination and brown hues weave together throughout the work; along the right side, the woman’s right hand breaks through the confines of the frame. It is signed in black paint to the lower left and numbered 13 out of an edition of 50. The composition is presented in a composite frame with a glossy black finish and a stepped edge.
Known for his large-scale figural reliefs and sculptures in the round, internationally exhibited artist Bill Mack has created many works of sport celebrities that are housed in Sports Hall of Fame institutions. Among these are Kareem Abdul-Jabar in the NBA Hall of Fame, Peggy Fleming in the Figure Skating Hall of Fame, Harmon Killebrew in the Baseball Hall of Fame, and Arthur Ashe in the Tennis Hall of Fame, to name a few. Other notable works include his restoration of the ‘H’ from the original discarded Hollywood Sign and his sculptures for multiple corporations such as Pillsbury, General Motors, and 3M. Several famed individuals who have collected his work include President Bill Clinton, President Ronald Reagan, Sylvester Stallone, and Elizabeth Taylor, among many others.
