A fine eglomise painted glass balloon scene, early 19th century, French. This painting depicts a gathering of aristocratic men, women, children and their pets in a park, as a red, hot air balloon rises into the gloomy sky. It is commandeered by one person in the main basket, while someone is seen climbing up to them on a ladder. The unsigned work is presented in a natural wooden frame with wire to the verso for hanging.
