A hand-knotted fragment of a Caucasian Karabagh Veneh soumak rug that has been repurposed into a wall hanging. This piece features a geometric pattern in a palette of russet crimson, vermillion, ivory, indigo, black, steel blue, pink, and sea green. It features four distinct quadrants with large S-shaped areas full of a stepped repeat with the negative space filled with checked diamonds and rams horn motifs. The left and upper edges feature the interlocking border of the original rug. The side edges have been bound, and there is a short fringe on the upper and lower edges with O-rings applied on a strip to the verso for hanging.
