Hand-Knotted Qashqai Wool Carpet Runner

A hand-knotted Persian Qashqai wool carpet runner. This rug is rendered in a palette of carnelian, ivory, clementine, mocha, blue and black. The carnelian colored field begins with five stepped diamond medallions each infilled with a rosette and branched forms. The field is populated with filler motifs that include animals, rosettes, stars, boteh, and other geometrically shaped symbols. Framing the field is an ivory grounded main border with crossed patterns and flowers. Each corner features a matching medallion with stylized boteh designs. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a wool warp fringe to the ends. This rug is unlabeled.
