A hand-knotted Persian Abadeh wool area rug. The rug has been worked in abrashed shades of persimmon, clementine, ivory, black and claret. A stepped diamond medallion infilled with a memling gul is flanked by stylized tree of life patterns. The field is further populated with geometric shapes, pinwheels, and blooming plants. The selvedges have been overcast and there is warp fringe at each end. The rug has no maker’s marks.
