A pair of hand-colored botanical etchings on paper titled Gray Oak by Gabriel after illustrations by Pancrace Bessa (French, 1772-1846) and Bitter Nut Hickory by Cally after Henri-Joseph Redouté (French, 1788-1852). These prints each depict leaves and nuts from branches of the titular trees. They are titled with the common and scientific names to the lower center and have artists’ names to the lower corners. Both are presented behind layered mats and glass in gold tone wood frames with wire to the versos for hanging.
Condition
- very light edge wear to frames; discoloration to prints.
