Hand-Knotted Persian Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian carpet runner. This wool rug features a tribal-style design in a purposefully abrashed palette of garnet, cream, charcoal, ochre and black. It begins with a vertical row of hexagonal and decagonal medallions in cream and charcoal. The medallions rest on a garnet field populated with trees of life, geometric florets and diamonds. Framing the field are three borders, including a Hamadan outer guard border and a main border grounded in black and filled with a variety of geometric motifs. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with short cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
