Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Bijar area rug.This wool rug is hand-knotted in a palette of crimson, violet-blue, pink, tawny, teal, ivory, black, grey and fern. It has a diamond shaped serrated edged medallion on a diamond shaped lozenge patterned with a geometric herati motif that continues onto the layered corner spandrels. Framing the rug are zig-zag and barber pole guard borders and a main crab border over ivory. Selvedges are overcast, finishing with ivory warp fringe to either end. It is not labeled.
