Hand-Knotted Persian Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian carpet runner. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of charcoal, black, rust, cream, ochre and vermillion. It features a geometric, allover herati pattern incorporating stylized palmettes, flowers, leaves and vines over a purposefully abrashed charcoal/black field. The field is framed by compound borders, including a floral herati main border over cream. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with a mesh skirt and cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
