Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Kurdish Mazlaghan area rug. The rug features a central “lightening bolt” medallion in indigo, cream, cinnamon, and ivory on a deep crimson colored field. The remaining field and spandrels are comprised of floral chains and tree forms. Framing the rug are floral meander guard borders and a main border in the field colors with leaf and calyx patterns. Selvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with ivory fringe to either end. It is not marked.
