A pair of antique engraved maps on laid paper after cartographer and engraver John Cary (British; 1754 – 1835). Featured is a hand-colored map titled A New Map of Bohemia and Moravia, inscribed ‘London, Published by J. Cary Engraver & Map seller No. 181 Strand, Decr. 21, 1801’ in plate to the lower margin. Also featured is a hand-colored engraving titled A New Map of France, inscribed ‘London, Printed for J. Cary, Engraver & Printseller No. 181 Strand, Augst. 1st, 1799.’ in plate to the lower margin. The maps are matted and presented under glass in wooden frames, each fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- to fair; discoloration and foxing to prints; edge wear, nicks and scuffs to frames; tears to frames’ backing paper.
