Hand-Knotted Persian Karaja Wool Carpet Runner
Item Details
A hand-knotted Persian Karaja carpet runner. This wool rug is worked in a palette of cherry red, golden ocher, ivory, azure, tan, and black. The field is patterned with alternating medallions including ashik, geometric and star forms. It is framed with running water and floral meander guard borders and a main border of flowers and geometric forms. Seelvedges are overcast in stripes, the rug finishing with ivory cotton fringe to either end. It is not labeled.
