Etching with Woodcuts Featuring Poul Rytter
Item Details
In Plate
An illegibly-signed and -titled etching on paper with three woodcuts, one by Danish artist Poul Rytter (1895-1965). Rytter’s depicts a simplified image of a what seems to be a wallaby drinking out of a shallow dish, and is presented with a graphic rendering of a cobblestone street lined by buildings, and an image of a kingfisher perched over a snow-lined creek. The etching depicts a pair of boats underneath a wooden dock, and all four unframed prints are notated to their lower margins. Several are marked ‘Eget Tryk,’ Danish for ‘Own Press,’ indicating that the artist made the print themselves.
