A pair of serigraphs on board by artist Mark Coomer titled Geisha with Cage and Geisha with Scroll. These prints, modeled after Japanese woodblock pieces, each depict a traditionally-dressed Japanese woman. One has a small cage in her hands, and the other inspects a scroll. They are marked to the lower right with in plate characters and seals, and each is presented unframed.

Born in Bay City, Michigan, Mark Coomer studied art in Chicago and Detroit before eventually settling in Arizona. He is known for his paintings and serigraphs, often depicting street patioscapes and urban city scenes. Coomer did almost all of his own printing, limiting his editions to 100. His preferred ground for his prints was composite board, which combined with the permanent nature of his oil-based inks, were advertised as “washable”. Coomer exhibited his paintings and limited edition serigraphs nationally, and many can be found in private collections and institutions including the Chicago Art Institute; Challis Galleries, Laguna Beach, California; and The West and Walter-Bimson Western Art Collection housed at the University of Arizona Museum of Art.
