Item Details
A semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Sarouk wool area rug. This rug is rendered in an abrash palette of indigo, madder red, wheat, sky blue, rose, and apricot. The indigo hued field begins with a central rosette with a mirrored image of flowering branches with sprays, a bouquet to each end, and other floral sprays throughout. Framing the field is a madder red grounded main border in a floral meander pattern, as well as a pair of carnation meander guard borders. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and reinforced stitching to the ends, along with blue weft threads visible to the underside. This rug is unlabeled.
