Item Details
A vintage to semi-antique hand-knotted Persian Sarouk area rug. This wool rug offers a highly ornate pattern with detailed allover floral and vine designs with floral sprays including shah abbasi and arabesques of foliage with flower heads. It is worked in a palette of onyx, scarlet red, sapphire, rose, caramel, ivory and taupe. Framing the rug are reciprocal sawtooth, carnation meander guards along with a stylized herati main border in the field colors. Selvedges are overcast, finishing without fringe. It is not labeled.
