Item Details
A hand-knotted Karaja carpet runner. This wool rug offers a series of nine medallions to the center field including floral, hooked and geometric devices. It is rendered in magenta, indigo, ivory, gold, and green. It offers animal and tree forms along with star motifs to the surrounding field framed by stylized floral meander guard borders and a main border boasting large flower heads in the field colors. Selvedges are double overcast, the rug finishing with ivory warp fringe at either end. It is not labeled.
