An antique hand-colored engraving on paper titled The Forum, Rome by British engraver Arthur Willmore (1814-1888) after British artist William Henry Bartlett (1809-1854). This piece depicts a view of the Roman ruins in the center of the city with figures milling about and observing them. It is titled to the lower center and has artists’ names to the lower corners. It is presented behind glass in a black wood frame..
Condition
- discoloration present throughout ground; surface abrasions on ground at lower left and center left; wear to edges of frame; adhesive, tape, and discoloration throughout backing on verso of frame.
