A pair of retablo paintings on metal. This pair includes one retablo of the Virgin Mary standing above an angel, and another depicting a young woman seated at a throne. No signatures are visible.

Retablos are small devotional paintings, often on rectangular sheets of tin. Retablos can be ex-votos, depicting people in dangerous situations where saints or other holy figures save them, or portraits of saints and holy figures. Retablos can be left at shrines or hung in the home.

Condition

- oxidation present along edges and verso of both metal grounds; warping and wear to edges of larger item; paint worn from center and bottom left corner of smaller painting; indentations throughout verso of larger item.
