Item Details
A handwoven Anatolian wool kilim. This flat weave area rug is rendered in a palette of mahogany, mocha, wheat, ivory, and black. The mahogany colored field begins with two stepped diamond pendant medallions infilled with a gul, and features stepped diamonds, and aina kochak motifs. Framing the field is a fetter shaped edge, along with a unique crenelated border, while the ends have elem panels with ashik style forms. Finishing this rug are overcast selvedges and a cotton warp fringe to the ends.
