Item Details
A hand-knotted Pakistani-Caucasian area rug. This wool rug is rendered in a palette of azure, gold, cream, green, midnight blue and garnet. It begins with a vertical row of medallions on an azure field, with partial medallions arrayed along the lateral edges. The field is framed by five borders, including a simplified crab primary border over cream and geometric meander-pattern minor borders. Selvedges are single overcast, the rug finishing at each end with tan cotton warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
