A circa 1970s ink and watercolor mixed media painting on paper. The Modernist style piece depicts an abstract figural portrait, rendered in expressive strokes of grey, yellow, orange and pink hues. The work is signed to the lower right, appearing to read ‘MP’; however, no clear artist attribution could be made. It is presented under glass in a wooden frame with gold tone finish, fitted with hanging wire to the verso.

Condition

- discoloration, staining and foxing to composition, paper and liner; nicks, wear and scratches to frame; tears to frame’s backing paper.
