A hand-knotted and carved Chinese accent rug. This wool rug begins with a floral centerpiece over an open, royal blue field with lotus and foliage in the corners. Framing the field is a wide, broken border filled with stylized, scrolling vines, lotus and buds over cream. The outer guard border is royal blue. The palette is cream, celadon, shades of pink, lavender and royal blue. Selvedges are overcast, the rug finishing at each end with an ivory mesh skirt and long wool warp fringe. It is unlabeled.
