Antique Convertible Writing Desk with Bellflower Inlay, Probably Kentucky
Item Details
An antique convertible writing desk base and table in cherry with Bellflower inlay, circa 1810, originating from Garrard County, Kentucky. The piece features two hand-dovetailed drawers with interior dividers (at least one missing), fitted with brass bail pulls on oval plates with raised fruit basket motifs. There are two lopers with round brass knobs, which support the top, which folds over into a table. The straight, square tapered legs have bell flower inlay. Desk is descended from the Yandell family of Boyle County Kentucky.
