A serigraph on paper of an original illustration printed in the book Madeline Goes to the Zoo with illustrations by Ludwig Bemelmans (1898 – 1962) of Madeline and the Tiger. This print depicts the famous children’s book character standing in front of a cage holding a lion stating “Pooh-pooh’ while her teacher and classmates look on. The print is signed in plate to the lower left and is signed by hand to the lower right in graphite. Mounted under off-white matting, the print is presented under glass in a gold tone metal frame. A wire for hanging purposes and a gallery decal are present to the verso.
Condition
- minor marks to mat; small tear to the upper left; light wrinkling; light toning toward edges.
